The Cors

The Cors is a small, seriously run restaurant in a Victorian gothic house in Laugharne — the kind of place that would attract attention anywhere but feels particularly surprising in a small Welsh town of barely a thousand people. The cooking is ambitious without being showy: local fish, Welsh lamb, and seasonal vegetables from the garden, prepared with care and served in a dining room decorated with antiques and oil paintings. The wine list is well-considered.

This is destination dining by Laugharne standards. Book well in advance, especially in summer — the restaurant is small and the reputation draws visitors from some distance. Closed Monday and Tuesday. A good reason to extend an afternoon visit into an evening.
