Bryntail Lead Mine

Bryntail Lead Mine sits below the Clywedog dam, where ruined buildings and old workings give the reservoir trip a harder historical edge. Lead was mined here from the 19th century, and the remains make more sense when you see them against the scale of the dam above.

It is a short stop, not a destination by itself. Pair it with Llyn Clywedog and use it to remember that these quiet hills were once industrial as well as pastoral.
