Trecco Bay

Long sand beach dominated by Europe's largest caravan park

Trecco Bay is the eastern of Porthcawl's three main beaches — a long, flat expanse of dunes and sand running toward Newton, backed by one of the largest static caravan parks in Europe. The beach itself is wide, clean, and offers safer bathing than Rest Bay; at low tide it merges with Newton Bay further east.

In summer it can feel like a different town from the rest of Porthcawl — busy, caravan-park crowds, takeaway food on the front, and a strong holiday atmosphere. The walk to the Newton end takes about half an hour along firm sand at low tide and is the best way to escape the crowds.
