Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is a rural National Hunt course near Wrexham, set in open countryside by the River Dee. On race days it offers a very different Welsh-border experience from castles, aqueducts, and town-centre sightseeing.
It is only worth planning around when a meeting is scheduled. If the dates line up, expect a local, outdoor racing atmosphere rather than the grandstand glamour of Britain's bigger courses.
