Galleon Beach is a sheltered crescent of sand on the south side of English Harbour, separated from the dockyard by a narrow headland and reachable by a short water taxi ride from the dockyard jetty or a 15-minute walk. The water is calm and clear, with good snorkelling over the reef at the eastern end of the bay. Several colourful fish species are visible even from shallow water.
The Loose Cannon bar and restaurant at the back of the beach makes it a full destination rather than just a swimming stop — popular with sailors and day-trippers, with cold Wadadli beer, fresh fish, and cocktails from mid-morning until late. The beach is never crowded by Caribbean standards.
