A small jungle lake named for the five shades of blue its waters take in different light, about 45 minutes southeast of Belmopan along the Hummingbird Highway. The access trail from St Margaret's Village is rough — allow a couple of hours there and back. Canoes are sometimes available at the put-in but paddles are not guaranteed; bring everything you need. A concrete platform above the water offers a good cliff jump. Nearby karst outcrops hide caves containing intact Mayan pottery. Not a casual outing, but a spectacular one for anyone up for a real hike.
