Willmore Wilderness Park is the big country south and west of Grande Cache: over 4,500 square kilometres of mountains, valleys, rivers, and backcountry routes. It is less developed than Alberta's national parks, with access mainly by foot, horseback, or bicycle.
For most visitors, Willmore is something to sample from its edges unless they are prepared for serious backcountry travel. Its presence still defines Grande Cache.
