Devonshire Beach is the park's easiest beach day from town. The sand is natural and broad, the water is shallow enough for relaxed summer swimming, and the setting feels much farther north than the drive from Edmonton suggests.
Wind can change the lake quickly, so this is best treated as a flexible stop: swim on calm warm days, walk the shore when the weather is cooler, and stay for sunset if the sky is clear.
