Jarvis Bay Provincial Park sits on the north shore of Sylvan Lake, about 4 kilometres from the town centre along Highway 20. It's quieter than the main Sylvan Lake Park beach and better for camping and day use without the resort-town crowds. The campground here is well run and a good base for exploring the lake by water.
The park has a boat launch, picnic facilities, and a swimming area. If you have a kayak or canoe, Jarvis Bay is a good entry point for paddling around the quieter north side of the lake. The lake is large enough (about 15 square kilometres) that it doesn't feel crowded even in summer, and early mornings on the water in July are genuinely lovely.
