Metrotown is the largest shopping mall in Greater Vancouver, with over 450 stores and services under one enormous roof. It is anchored by two Bay stores, a Walmart, a Winners, and an array of national and international retail chains. For serious shopping — particularly for electronics, clothing, and home goods — it draws people from across the Lower Mainland.
The Metrotown area has also become a high-density residential neighbourhood, with a cluster of condo towers rising above the mall and a busy SkyTrain station that makes it highly accessible without a car. It is not a destination for the scenery, but it functions as a very efficient shopping centre.
