Castlegar Sculpturewalk is the town's most visible calling card: a rotating open-air exhibition of sculptures set along the downtown streets. The works change each season, and visitors can vote for a favourite; the People's Choice winner is bought for the city's permanent collection.
It is an easy, low-pressure way to read the town. Pick up the current map, walk Columbia Avenue and the nearby side streets, and let the pieces pull you into parts of downtown you might otherwise drive past.
