Sxotsaqel / Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park

Sxotsaqel / Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park is the serious outdoor reason to base yourself in Chilliwack. The road follows the Chilliwack River into a U-shaped mountain valley, ending at a cold, clear lake ringed by old-growth forest and alpine ridges.

This is not a quick downtown sight. The park is about 64 kilometres southeast of Chilliwack, and the best rewards need time: lakeshore wandering, forest walks, or longer hikes toward Lindeman, Greendrop, Radium, or Flora lakes. In settled weather it turns Chilliwack from a Fraser Valley stop into a proper mountain day.
