A two-kilometre curl of sand and gravel that hooks east from Comox to form the southern shelter of Comox Harbour. Half the spit is a Canadian Navy training base (HMCS Quadra) and closed to the public; the other half is a regional park with a sand-and-cobble beach, picnic tables, and unmatched views back to the Coast Mountains.
It is the standard launching point for valley kayakers, with the inner harbour calm enough for beginners and the outer Strait of Georgia open to the more experienced. Sea lions haul out on the rocks off the tip in winter.
