Getting There

SkyTrain. The most useful way to reach Coquitlam from anywhere in central Vancouver. The Millennium Line runs from VCC–Clark in downtown Vancouver to Lafarge Lake–Douglas at the north end of the Coquitlam Town Centre. The journey from downtown takes about 50 minutes. There are three SkyTrain stations in central Coquitlam (Coquitlam Central, Lincoln, Lafarge Lake–Douglas), with a fourth (Burquitlam) just over the border in Burnaby.

West Coast Express. The commuter rail line from Waterfront in downtown Vancouver runs to Coquitlam Central station, with five trains a day each way on weekdays only. The journey takes about 45 minutes and is the most scenic public-transport route between downtown and the Tri-Cities, but the limited service makes it less practical for visitors.

By car. The Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) and Lougheed Highway (Highway 7) both run east through Coquitlam from Vancouver. Driving time from downtown is 30–45 minutes depending on traffic, which can be heavy at peak hours.

By bus. TransLink runs frequent buses across Metro Vancouver to and from Coquitlam Central station, which is the major bus interchange for the Tri-Cities area.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is about 45 minutes away by SkyTrain (Canada Line to downtown, transfer to Millennium Line) or by car.
