Mount Fisher is the serious hiking option near Cranbrook. The summit is high, the approach road is rough, and Wikivoyage rightly frames the top section as a scramble for experienced hikers.
Do not treat this as a casual town walk. With the right vehicle, weather, and fitness, it gives a much wilder day than Cranbrook's gentler local trails.
