Soames Hill is the best short hike near Gibsons, with forest stairs and trails climbing to open viewpoints over Howe Sound, Keats Island, Gambier Island, and the ferry route back toward Vancouver. It is a small effort for a very coastal reward.
Go when the sky is clear. In grey weather it is still a pleasant woods walk, but the view is the reason it belongs on the list.
