Gold River's appeal is almost entirely outdoor and nature-based. The Uchuck III boat run to Nootka Sound is the single best experience available. Beyond that, the area offers rock climbing, kayaking, caving, fishing, and hiking through some of the most dramatic landscape on Vancouver Island.
