James Chabot Provincial Park is the easy beach stop at the northeast end of Lake Windermere. It has a sandy swimming area, lawns, picnic space, and a boat launch, all close to the town centre.
It is not wild country, but it is useful in exactly the way a lake-town park should be. Come here for a swim, a paddle launch, or a quiet hour looking across the water.
