Kaslo Village Hall

Rare surviving wooden municipal hall from Kaslo's silver-boom years.

Kaslo Village Hall is a handsome survivor from 1898, when the town was still riding the Kootenay silver boom. It is one of the rare wooden municipal buildings in Canada still in use for its original civic purpose.

You do not need long here, but it belongs in a walk through town. Together with the lakefront, old storefronts, and SS Moyie, it explains why Kaslo feels more historic than many villages its size.
