Kitwanga Mountain Provincial Park protects the slopes just west of the village. The trail is a stiff climb, but the reward is a broad view over the Kitwanga and Skeena valleys toward the Seven Sisters mountains.
This is a practical add-on rather than the main reason to visit Kitwanga. Bring water, watch the weather, and do not expect much infrastructure beyond the trail and the view.
