The Merritt Walk of Stars is the town's most distinctive downtown sight: a self-guided country-music walk with artist handprints, signatures, and murals spread through the centre. The project grew out of Merritt's long-running country music festival identity, and it gives the otherwise practical downtown a clear theme.
You do not need to be a country fan to enjoy the walk, but it helps. Treat it as a wander rather than a checklist, with murals on side walls and handprints appearing in unexpected places.
