Idaho Peak is the big-view outing above New Denver. When the access road is open, a relatively short trail leads to alpine meadows and a lookout over Slocan Lake, the Valhallas, and the old mining country around Sandon.
Go in settled summer weather and ask locally about road conditions before driving up. In wildflower season the meadows can be superb, but the real draw is the scale of the lake and mountains below.
