The Silvery Slocan Museum occupies the old Bank of Montreal building on Main Street, a fitting place for a town shaped by mining booms and busts. Exhibits cover local prospecting, logging, family life, and the settlements that grew around Slocan Lake.
It is a modest museum, but useful. Visit before driving to Sandon or hiking old rail grades, and the names on the map start to mean more.
