Holy Trinity Cathedral

Holy Trinity Cathedral is the mother church of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster and one of the oldest ecclesiastical buildings in British Columbia. The current building dates to the 1860s, though it has been expanded and renovated several times since. The interior features stained glass windows commemorating early colonial families, and the churchyard has graves going back to the very beginning of European settlement in the city.

The cathedral sits in the Columbia Street historic district, a short walk from the waterfront. It is an active parish church; visitors are welcome outside service times.

A story
Holy Trinity is the oldest Anglican church still standing in British Columbia. When it was built in the 1860s, the congregation included many of the colonial government officials who had made New Westminster the capital of the mainland colony. The churchyard contains graves dating to the earliest years of European settlement in the region.
