Red Creek Fir

The Red Creek Fir is often described as the world's largest Douglas fir, rising more than 70 metres and measuring over four metres across. Its age is estimated at around a thousand years, which makes the tree feel less like a roadside curiosity and more like a living monument.

The access road is rough and conditions change, so check locally before setting out from Port Renfrew. It is best paired with other old-growth stops such as Avatar Grove.
