Prince George Airport (YXS) is served by Air Canada, WestJet, and several regional carriers. Direct flights connect to Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton; connections to other cities go through Vancouver.
By road, the city is at the junction of Highway 97 (the main BC interior north-south route) and the Yellowhead Highway (16), which runs east to Edmonton and west to Prince Rupert on the coast. The drive from Vancouver takes about 7 to 8 hours via Highway 97.
Via Rail's The Canadian passes through Prince George once weekly in each direction, running between Vancouver and Toronto. The journey from Vancouver takes about 18 hours. Prince George station is a handsome 1914 building near the city centre.
