Sooke Potholes are deep, smooth rock pools carved by the Sooke River. In summer they become one of the region's favorite swimming and picnicking spots, with clear water, forest shade, and enough rock ledges to make a few hours disappear.
The place is still a river, not a swimming pool. Currents, cold water, and slippery rock matter, especially outside low summer flow. Come early on hot days, when parking and the best river spots fill quickly.
