Sunset Theatre

Restored 1930s mining-town theatre used for plays, concerts, films, and community events.

The Sunset Theatre was built in the 1930s, when Wells was a much busier gold-mining town. Its survival gives the main street a real period anchor, and its current programme of theatre, concerts, films, and cabaret keeps the building from becoming just another heritage facade.

It is most worthwhile when something is on. If you are overnighting in Wells, check the schedule before defaulting to an early night.
