International Peace Garden

Cross-border garden and parkland shared by Manitoba and North Dakota.

The International Peace Garden sits on the Canada-United States border about 20 minutes south of Boissevain. Created in 1932, it uses formal gardens, lawns, lakes, and monuments to mark the long peaceful relationship between the two countries.

The odd pleasure here is that visitors can move around the garden across the international line. You still need to go through the normal border process when leaving the site, so bring the right documents even if you are only making a short visit.
