Oak Hammock Marsh

Large restored prairie marsh northwest of Selkirk, known for birding, trails, and wetland interpretation.

Oak Hammock Marsh is a broad prairie wetland northwest of Selkirk and one of the best nature stops in the area. Trails, canoe routes, viewing areas, and interpretive exhibits make it accessible even if you are not a serious birder.

Migration seasons are best, but the marsh is worth considering any time you want a break from Winnipeg and the Red River towns.
