Science East is a small, hands-on science centre with a setting that gives it more personality than the average family museum. It occupies Fredericton's former York County jail, so experiments, pulleys, puzzles, and physics demonstrations sit inside a building with its own slightly stern history.
The exhibits are aimed mainly at children, but adults who enjoy practical science will not be bored. It works especially well on a wet day or as a break from galleries and river walks, and the old jail context adds just enough local texture to make it feel rooted in Fredericton rather than interchangeable.
