The L'Anse Amour Burial Mound is a small, sober site with a very long memory. Archaeologists found a carefully prepared Maritime Archaic burial here, dated to roughly 7,700 years ago, with tools, red ochre, and grave goods placed beside the body.
It is easy to combine with Point Amour Lighthouse. The power of the place is in the contrast: a simple coastal rise, and evidence of people treating this shore as meaningful thousands of years before any modern border.
