Our Lady of Lourdes Schooner

Weathered mission schooner that once supplied remote Catholic posts across the western Arctic.

The Our Lady of Lourdes Schooner rests on land near the Catholic mission, looking rough but still powerful as a reminder of Arctic travel before roads. For more than two decades it carried supplies between Tuktoyaktuk and remote Catholic missions, working through seas where storms and shifting ice were part of the job.

It is worth seeing together with the sod house and the Arctic Ocean shore, rather than as a standalone museum piece.
