Balancing Rock Trail is a classic Digby Neck side trip: drive south, take the ferry to Long Island, then follow a short trail and steps to a viewing platform above the Bay of Fundy. The reward is a narrow basalt column standing improbably on end against the cliff.
It is too far from town to treat casually, but it gives Digby a natural anchor that the waterfront alone cannot provide.
