The former Roseland Theatre is New Glasgow's most important historic site. It is not a preserved theatre interior, and the building has had other uses, but its exterior still marks the place where Viola Desmond challenged racial segregation in 1946.
This is a short stop, not a museum visit. Still, it gives New Glasgow a national story that many larger towns would envy, and it is worth seeking out if you care about Canadian history beyond monuments and battlefields.
