Partridge Island is really a headland reached by a gravel tombolo, with red cliffs, beach walks, and broad views over the Minas Basin. The Cliffs of Fundy Geopark identifies it as one of the area's signature basalt headlands and notes its Mi'kmaq name, Wa'so'q.
Come at low tide, watch the return of the water, and do not treat the beach like an ordinary lake shore. The place is at its best when geology, tide, and weather all feel slightly larger than the village behind you.
