Parrsboro

Fundy shore village with dinosaur fossils, red-cliff walks, old seafaring houses, and Atlantic theatre.

Parrsboro sits on the Minas Basin side of the Bay of Fundy, where the tides empty harbours, expose red mudflats, and keep dragging geology into plain sight. It is a small village, but it has a strong mix: fossil science, Mi'kmaq and shipbuilding history, Fundy views, and a theatre scene that feels too ambitious for a place this size.

Start at the Fundy Geological Museum, then plan your tide timing carefully. Low water makes the shore feel enormous, but the Bay of Fundy comes back fast and without much sympathy for slow walkers.

The best Parrsboro day pairs museum time with Partridge Island, Ottawa House By-the-Sea Museum, and, in season, an evening at Ship's Company Theatre. That is enough to make it more than a pretty stop on the shore road.
