Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga Territorial Park sits about 8 km outside Rankin Inlet around the Meliadine River. The Inuktitut name means "the land around the river of little fish", and the place still feels closely tied to everyday land use: drinking water, berry picking, fishing, and walking the tundra.
The park's strongest pull is cultural as much as scenic. Interpretive trails around Qarmaviniqtalik point out tent rings, qarmait, fish traps, and other stone traces left by Thule and Caribou Inuit. Go with local advice on weather and wildlife; this is open Arctic country, not a manicured city park.
