Mill of Kintail

Conservation area with an 1830s mill, trails, and Naismith and McKenzie exhibits.

The Mill of Kintail is a preserved 1830s grist mill in a wooded conservation area outside Almonte. The grounds have short trails through field and forest, picnic spots, and enough quiet to make it feel like a real break from the road.

Inside, the museum focuses on two local figures: James Naismith, who invented basketball, and R. Tait McKenzie, the physician, educator, and sculptor. It is a good stop if you want history without giving up a walk.
