The Royal Botanical Gardens is Canada's largest botanical garden, occupying over 1,000 hectares straddling the Burlington-Hamilton border. The complex includes themed gardens — including the Lilac Garden (world's largest collection of lilacs), the Rose Garden, and the Rock Garden — alongside nature sanctuaries such as Cootes Paradise, a restored wetland on the shore of Lake Ontario. The RBG Centre has a visitor centre, restaurant, and gift shop. A shuttle bus connects the various sites.
