Kincardine's lighthouse is the town's best landmark: a square white tower with red trim, built in 1880 to serve the fishing and salt-shipping harbour. It stands on the bank above the Penetangore River, close enough to downtown that you can visit it as part of a short harbour walk.
The best view is from the bridge and river mouth, where the lighthouse, marina, fishing boats, and Lake Huron horizon line up in one frame.
