Frontenac Provincial Park is Kingston's serious outdoor day trip, a rugged landscape of lakes, hardwood forest, canoe routes, and hiking loops. Unlike more developed picnic parks, Frontenac is oriented toward people who want to walk, paddle, ski, or camp with a bit of self-sufficiency.

For a short visit, choose one of the marked hiking loops and treat the park as a half- or full-day escape from the limestone city. Conditions change sharply by season, so check trail and access information before leaving Kingston.
