Kingston is on the main Via Rail corridor between Toronto and Montreal, with several trains a day in each direction. The journey from Toronto takes about two and a half hours; from Montreal just over three. The train station is a short taxi or bus ride from downtown. By car, Kingston is 260 kilometres east of Toronto and 285 kilometres west of Montreal on Highway 401. There is no commercial air service directly to Kingston; the nearest major airports are in Toronto (Pearson) and Ottawa.
