Battle of Crysler's Farm National Historic Site

The Battle of Crysler's Farm National Historic Site marks an 1813 War of 1812 battle in which British, Canadian, and Mohawk forces stopped an American advance toward Montréal. It was a small battle by global standards, but a decisive one for control of the St. Lawrence.

The landscape is quiet now, close to Upper Canada Village and the river. Visit it as part of the same outing, because the battlefield, the Loyalist settlement story, and the later Seaway flooding all sit on top of each other here.
