Lost Villages Museum

The Lost Villages Museum, in Ault Park near Long Sault, preserves buildings and memories from the communities flooded or displaced by the St. Lawrence Seaway and power project in 1958. Houses, a church, a school, and a railway station were moved here rather than abandoned to the water.

It is a short drive east of Morrisburg and pairs naturally with Upper Canada Village. The two places tell different parts of the same river story: one looking back to the 1860s, the other to the modern engineering project that remade the shoreline.
