Huntsville's Main Street runs a short stretch from the Muskoka River bridge up through the old commercial core, with a decent mix of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants that survive year-round rather than closing when the cottagers leave in September. The street is worth a wander for an hour — there are bookshops, a few galleries selling cottage-country art, and a handful of places to get a proper coffee.
The town's position at the junction of several lakes means there are small docks and viewpoints within easy walking distance of the main street. The Muskoka River winds through town, and a short walk along the riverside trail gives a good sense of how the landscape shapes daily life here. In summer, the main street hosts a weekly farmers market.
