The JNAAG, as it is known locally, is the unexpectedly strong small art gallery in downtown Sarnia, housed in a restored 1910 bank building. The permanent collection focuses on Canadian art from the Group of Seven onwards, including works by Lawren Harris, A.Y. Jackson, and Tom Thomson, donated mostly from the Alix family's private holdings.

Rotating exhibitions add contemporary work from Ontario and beyond. Free admission, a thoughtful programme, and the right size for an hour's visit — this is the cultural anchor of downtown.
