Sarnia's pleasures are mostly outdoors and along the water. Canatara Park's freshwater beach is the headline attraction in summer, and the Bluewater Trail along the St. Clair River makes for one of the better waterside walks in southwestern Ontario. The downtown art gallery is the cultural anchor, and a drive south through Chemical Valley is an oddly compelling industrial spectacle in its own right.
