Finlayson Point is the easiest public way to touch Lake Temagami from town. It has camping, swimming, and access to the water that made the area famous with canoeists.
For a short visit, treat it as the lake half of a Temagami day: a swim, a paddle if you can arrange one, or simply a quiet break after the fire-tower climb.
