Fathom Five National Marine Park is Tobermory's headline reason to stay. The protected waters hold shipwrecks, clear-water diving, island cliffs, and the boat route to Flowerpot Island. Divers need to register, but non-divers can still see a lot from glass-bottom cruises.
The water is cold even when the harbour is busy and sunny. Bring layers for the boat and book ahead in summer.
